... it's our Centenary year!

There are so many exciting Centenary events now looming on the horizon, some already booked and others where the booking date is still to come. With so much happening it is easy to miss a deadline - so it is important that you check the Centenary website for up-to-date information.

100 Years of Discovery & Adventure
An exciting book of challenges for 5 to 105 year olds!! to celebrate 100 years of Girlguiding.  Complete the challenges on your own, as a family, group, or Unit. Gain 100 stars to earn your Challenge badge and certificate.  £1.50 per challenge set (booklet, certificate & badge) plus postage and packing.  Full details in flyer.

Centenary Camp challenge 
This summer, Harewood House in Yorkshire will be teeming with thousands of Guides and international guests at Girlguiding UK’s biggest-ever Guide camp! To help celebrate the occasion, we have prepared TWO special design challenges. All sections can get involved – and there are some great prizes to be won! Please note that although the challenges are linked to the Girlguiding UK Centenary Camp Heritage Zone, you don’t have to be attending the Camp to take part!

Fusion is a one-day festival featuring the best in outdoor performing arts from all around the world, set against the stunning backdrop of Harewood House! There will be so much to see and do, you will be spoilt for choice!  Experience hundreds of acts – circus musicians acrobats extreme hairdressing dance groups artists theatre performers storytellers ...too many to mention!
Fusion is open to all members of Girlguiding UK – from 5 to 105 – and takes place on Wednesday 4 August 2010 at Harewood House, near Leeds.

Story-Gathering Project
Girls and young women can celebrate 100 years of memories by gathering and sharing guiding stories and add them to the Story Bank, which aims to tell the story of guiding's impact on the lives of girls and women and on society in general.  Each County will have 6 people interviewed which will give a snapshot of local guiding.  Read about the role of the story gatherer/oral historian  Download PDF flyer (70kB)
