On Saturday 25th September, the County gathered at a bunting-clad Willow Tree to celebrate it’s 21st birthday. This coming of age was perfectly symbolised with an afternoon tea, and was a lovely day for fellow Guiders to come together in person again to catch up on all the news of the past 18 months.
There were brilliant volunteers in the kitchen, expertly led by Helen Hutchings, assembling cake stands of sandwiches, scones and many, many sweet treats! Everything was just like having a hotel afternoon tea – I mean, who doesn’t cut their sandwiches with an electric carving knife and a ruler to get perfect measurements?! We were served by a team of young leaders keeping track of all our dietary requirements and tea orders, and definitely left feeling very full! Here’s to the return of in-real-life events again!
The event raised £536 for the preservation of Willow Tree. Don’t forget to consider Willow Tree for your future events.
