Last week County members were treated to a luxurious afternoon tea, as a thank you for all their hard work for Girlguiding Middlesex North West. The event was held at Willow Tree, on a lovely summer’s evening which gave us an opportunity to appreciate the beautiful setting.
The feast was preceded by a summary of the County business – accounts were reviewed and County Commissioner, Collette Stone, gave an overview of our achievements over the past year, as well as outlining areas for growth and development. In the coming months, attention will be focused on our ‘Growing Guiding’ initiative – recruiting more volunteers and reducing waiting lists.
The AGM is also a time to honour members who have made a particularly significant contribution to Guiding in our County. Former International Adviser Corrie Irwin and Ann Simon, Leader of 10th Pinner Guides, both received the Girlguiding Good Service brooch, awarded for excellent service.
Debbie Coombes gave a special award to Hannah, Carol and Jo for their fantastic team work and commitment in keeping 1st Harlington Guides running during a difficult time.
As the event coincided with Volunteers’ Week, it was a great opportunity to say ‘Thank you for volunteering’ to all our members! Many thanks to the team who worked hard to organise such a wonderful evening.
