On Saturday 9th May around 100 Guides and Senior Section members descended on the capital for the Monopoly Challenge. The task? Simple! Just try to visit as many places on the Monopoly board as you can (oh, and do some crazy challenges for extra points along the way!) For example, some groups were photographed being Beatles at Abbey Road, some collected souvenirs from Capital Radio, and some sat in posh cars on Park Lane! The aim was to complete as many challenges as possible in the time allowed.
The winners were 1st Harlington B team, with 7th Stanmore coming a close second. 16th Harrow B and 4th Ickenham were the winners of the ‘build a London landmark’ competition. Well done to all the winners, and to all those who took part, and many thanks to all the leaders and parents who helped out to make the day such a success.

We asked the girls for some quotes to sum up their experiences and here’s what they had to say!
‘We enjoyed this experience and it gave us a wider knowledge of London. It improved our teamwork skills whilst having fun! It was very good but very tiring.’
‘My feet hurt. When’s lunch? This is tiring. I had a nice time.’
‘It was great fun but my feet ache!’
‘We had great fun around London.’
‘I’ve never been so happy to see chairs!’
‘Excuse me, are you a tourist?’
‘Nothing seems possible until it’s done.’ Nelson Mandela
‘Who forgot the map?!’
‘Thank you to the man who stood in the middle of the road while the buses honked to take a picture of us on the Abbey Road crossing.’
