3rd Hayes celebrated Evie’s Jack Petchey Award

Evie was awarded Jack Petchey for being amazing in and outside of Guiding, always being welcoming to new guides and making sure they felt welcome, and always coming to guides with a really positive attuite and received a certificate, and £300 to spend on her unit. Evie choose for the unit to have a fun day out in an escape room after Remembrance parade.

On Sunday 11th November, we went to at Barra Hall park, ready to parade ready to St.Marys for our Remembrance parade, we then back to a unit hut in Hayes and had, tea toast and even some bacon rolls before we headed over in Andrew’s mini to High Wycombe to see if we could complete the escape room and indeed get out, your be pleased to hear both groups successfully got out and we left with everyone. On the way home, we stopped for them to have a cheeky McDonalds for dinner.

Some of the guides comment below:

“My experience in the escape room was an engaging activity. We used a lot of teamwork skills which was important to escape from the room. During some parts it was challenging and scary to do it but other times it was fun to solve the clues. I would love to try the other rooms. “

“I’m coming here for my birthday”

“I enjoyed the day working with others and solving the problems with the clues that we were given. I found some of the clues challenging but found others would help. I found it as whole a really good experience and I would love it definitely do it again”

It was a lovely day out, very enjoyable, memorable day full of laughs, fun, smiles and friendship just like Guiding should be, and was a pleasure to have the whole unit with me.
