On Thursday 5th June 2025, nearly 50 volunteers from across the County and our local Trefoil Guilds came together for the Middlesex North West County’s Awards Evening held at our County campsite – Willow Tree Centre.
Held as part of Volunteers’ Week, the evening was a fantastic opportunity to come together in gratitude and celebration, recognising the dedication and achievements of our Girlguiding volunteers. It was wonderful to see members from every Division represented, and we were especially pleased to welcome guests from Middlesex South West. A highlight of the evening was the strong show of support from Ruislip Victoria District, Hillingdon North Division, with 14 members attending to celebrate their District Commissioner, Elizabeth Brennand, as she received her Long Service Award.
County Commissioner Jennifer Maidment and Assistant County Commissioner Marian Brown opened the evening by thanking everyone for their ongoing commitment to Girlguiding and the positive impact they make in their local area and for the County.
A special mention was made for Lesley who wasn’t able to make the Hillingdon Community Awards ceremony. You can read the full blog about our local borough award finalist and winners.
Before the award presentations began, guests were treated to a fantastic performance by local acapella group Eclipse. Midway through the evening, we were delighted to hear Freya, a Guide from Hillingdon South and recent Jack Petchey Award winner, perform My Heart Will Go On beautifully on her clarinet.
For 2024/5 academic year, 63 Long Service Awards were due to be presented, three volunteers completed the Leadership Development Programmes and three achieved their Going Away Scheme.
