County Merger
Creation of Middlesex West County
In September 2024, the County Executives of Middlesex North West and Middlesex South West agreed to merge to become Middlesex West.
It was confirmed that Middlesex West would come into force in September 2025. Jennifer Maidment will become County Commissioner for Middlesex West.
Work has begun and the timeline and actions can be found below. This will be updated as we work through the merger process.

What We've Achieved
November 2024
Jennifer Maidment, County Commissioner for MNW, and Marian Brown, Assistant County Commissioner, visited Middlesex South West’s County Executive at Galbraith Hall to introduce themselves.
December 2024
Following Middlesex South West County’s Division changes, Middlesex North West undertook a review of their structure and approved the Division changes from five Divisions to four and agreed two Divisions will be renamed. These changes came into force in January 2025.
January 2025
Both County Executives met for a joint meeting held at Galbraith Hall to begin discussions on moving forwards.
February 2025
At the start of February, separate County Teams meetings were held to gather members’ views on current structures and processes, ensuring the new county reflects both.
A proposed County structure and meeting calendar was presented to both County Teams at Willow Tree at the end of February where it was unanimously approved.
Next Steps
April 2025
Work will start on registering with the Charity Commission for a new Middlesex West charity number.
A constitution will be written for the new County (awaiting constitution template from Girlguiding).
The first property meeting for our two County properties – Willow Tree Centre and Galbraith Hall – has been confirmed.
May 2025
A team working day will be held, attended by current County Team members and open to anyone interested in learning more about holding a County Team role.
