County Day 2024

October 12 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

We are delighted to open registration for this year's County Day taking place on Saturday 12th October. The event starts at 9am until 4pm at The Great Barn and Ruislip Guide Hut.

Come along to socialise with volunteers from across the County and join a variety of workshops on areas like top tips for planning a term, risk assessments, residentials and the online REN form and Young Leaders’ support in your unit and much more.

New this year we will also be offering sessions facilitated by our County Young Leader Coordinator for our Young Leader Community.

Our County Team will be available to offer advice, and we will be able to offer IT support for those with Go and Learning Platform queries over break and lunch slots. DBS ID verifiers will also be on hand to complete new DBS checks and renewals.

We also have a wellbeing space where you can take some time out, catch up with friends and make some new ones.

Registration closes on 15th September 2024.

On the day

On arrival you will be able grab some refreshments before we kick off with a welcome from our County Commissioner Jenni and Assistant County Commissioners Jade & Marian.

Throughout the day there will be 3 sessions, you will be able to select your preferred sessions in September, keep an eye on your emails. The session will cover a variety of topics including

  • Bringing adventure to the programme for Rainbows and Brownies
  • Bringing adventure to the programme for Guides and Rangers
  • Inclusive Guiding
  • Top Tips for planning a term programme
  • Keeping on top of unit finances
  • Develop your skills through the Leadership Development Programme
  • Welcoming and empowering Young Leaders in your units
  •  

In addition members of our County Team will have stalls showcasing everything the County has to offer.

Refreshments will be available throughout the day and lunch is provided for all attendees. Please use the sign up form to note any dietary requirements.

The Great Barn is easily accessible by public transport and there is a car park on site. Travel and parking costs can be expensed to your unit. Volunteers with a Hillingdon First card can park at a reduced rate.
