Ranger County Campfire

After a week of rain, the sky cleared and we had the perfect weather to host our first Ranger County Camp Fire at Willow Tree.

30 Rangers and Ranger Leaders gathered together around the roaring fire under a beautiful starry sky, with some Rangers being luckily enough to see a shooting star and grabbing the opportunity to make a wish.

The campfire kicked off with Campfires Burning successfully sang in a round. The Rangers made lots of requests and took turns leading the songs, teaching some new songs and sharing different renditions of old favourites. The highlight of the night was the song Thunderstorm, with the Rangers giving everything they could to sing it loudly.

“I love singing, oh you never get to heaven, we got to sing every single verse” – Ranger, North Harrow Rangers

Everyone enjoyed toasting marshmallows and making s’mores, followed by sparklers. As the fire died down, it was then time to head home to the warm.

You can’t beat a s’more” – Ranger, 16th Harrow

The evening was full of chatting and giggling; the Rangers had a fantastic evening and there was lots of excitement about the next event in February. Thank you to Alice, our County Ranger Advisor for putting on a great event.

“Thank you organising on a lovely event, we have had a great time” Ranger, 3rd Hayes.

Jenni, County Commissioner
